چکیده

Vehicle navigation in dynamic environments is an important challenge, especially when the motion of the objects populating the environment is unknown. Traditional motion planning approaches are too slow to be applied in realtime to this domain, hence, new techniques are needed. Recently, iterative planning has emerged as a promising approach. Nevertheless, existing iterative methods do not provide a way to estimate the future behaviour of moving obstacles and use the resulting estimates in trajectory computation. This paper presents an iterative planning approach that addresses these two issues. It consists of two complementary methods: 1) a motion prediction method which learns typical behaviours of objects in a given environment. 2) an iterative motion planning technique based on the concept of Velocity Obstacles. Probabilistic Autonomous Robot Navigation in Dynamic Environments with Human Motion Prediction

This paper considers the problem of autonomous robot navigation in dynamic and congested environments. The predictive navigation paradigm is proposed where probabilistic planning is integrated with obstacle avoidance along with future motion prediction of humans and/or other obstacles. Predictive navigation is performed in a global manner with the use of a hierarchical Partially Observable Mark...

Steps Towards Safe Navigation in Open and Dynamic Environments

Autonomous navigation in open and dynamic environments is an important challenge, requiring to solve several difficult research problems located on the cutting edge of the state of the art. Bassically, these problems can be classified into three main categories: SLAM in dynamic environments; Detection, characterization, and behavior prediction of the potential moving obstacles; On-line motion p...

Moving Object Prediction for Off-road Autonomous Navigation¶

The realization of onand off-road autonomous navigation of Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) requires real-time motion planning in the presence of dynamic objects with unknown trajectories. To successfully plan paths and to navigate in an unstructured environment, the UGVs should have the difficult and computationally intensive competency to predict the future locations of moving objects that cou...

In this document we address the problem of autonomous navigation in dynamic unknown environments. The key of the problem is to guarantee safety for all the agents moving in the space (people, vehicles and the robot itself) while moving toward a predefined goal. In contrast with static or controlled environments, high dynamic environments present many difficult issues: the detection and tracking...

Reactive navigation in dynamic environment using a multisensor predictor

A reactive navigation system for an autonomous mobile robot in unstructured dynamic environments is presented. The motion of moving obstacles is estimated for robot motion planning and obstacle avoidance. A multisensor-based obstacle predictor is utilized to obtain obstacle-motion information. Sensory data from a CCD camera and multiple ultrasonic range finders are combined to predict obstacle ...
